Ridges and verges that stay put in a storm.
Mortar at the ridge and along the gable verge is the first thing to fail on an Irish roof. Frost and wind crack it, it washes out, and then the ridge tiles rock loose and the verge lets rain in. Once the mortar starts going, patching it only buys a winter.
A dry ridge and dry verge system replaces the mortar with mechanically fixed parts. Our photos show the method: old ridge tiles and crumbling mortar lifted off, a ridge roll fixed along the ridge, then the ridge tiles clipped back down with a ridge vent where the roof needs air. Verge caps clip along the gable edge and close it off.

Leak fixed the same day

What is a dry ridge?
A system that fixes the ridge tiles down mechanically over a ridge roll instead of bedding them in mortar, so there is no mortar to crack and wash out.
Can you fit dry verge to my existing roof?
Usually, yes. The old verge mortar comes off and the verge caps clip along the edge of the existing tiles.
Do you still repoint ridges?
Yes. Ridge repointing is part of our work, and we tell you which suits your roof.
